Our evening À la carte menu changes every 2 months to allow you to enjoy the best of the local seasonal offerings.
The menu below is for the months of October and November 2013.
Take food out of October and it is not an attractive month, with the clocks going back, darker nights and the first frosts of the winter, however from a gourmet point of view it’s wonderful. Native apples are in peak condition, wild mushrooms are in abundance, succulent squashes and the plentiful stock of game meats. In November any vegetable that can not stand the frost will have to be harvested and stored, but the cold also brings grains, some fruit and vegetables that actually get better with the morning frosts, like parsnips, kale and sloes. The game season is in full swing and our coastline brings delights such as Cornish rope grown Mussels, clams, lemon soles and skate. Towards the end of October the fire will be lit and the mulled wine served, we look forward to seeing you soon.
